"BLOW THE TRUMPET…AND SOUND THE ALARM…"
Joel 2:1
We are blowing the trumpet to sound an alarm, a call for the Body of Christ
around the world to rise up and come alongside the Church in the Philippines at
this critical hour. The Philippines are facing great peril and great opportunity
in the natural and in the spiritual.
This winter the rainy season has hit the Philippines with devastating
results. Throughout the nation hundreds have been killed as a result of heavy
flooding and massive mudslides that have destroyed roads and even buried entire
villages in some instances. We have received emails from our Filipino Director
that the mountains of Mindanao have been hit hard. Many of our families have
lost everything and are living in refugee camps. Some areas are completely cut
off. Construction on our first community center in Melale has been halted
because roads have been made totally impassible by huge mudslides and streams
that have become raging torrents. Thousands of families in the mountain areas
are totally cut off from food supplies and safe drinking water. Once
transportation can be restored, the need for food, clothing, and other supplies
will be immediate. As never before, we need to cry out to God on behalf of our
Brothers and Sisters in Christ that He will sustain them until we can reach them
with practical help.
What is going on? There is an intense spiritual battle being fought in the
heavenlies over the Philippines. Demonic princes that have kept the people in
bondage to idolatry and witchcraft for thousands of years are in a panic as they
see the Church in the Philippines coming into unity and prevailing in prayer to
see the glory of God poured out and the Kingdom of God established in their
nation. What happens in the natural is often a reflection of what is happening
in the spiritual. God is pouring out Revival on the Philippines in torrential
proportions and the demon spirits trying to hold back the floodtides of
spiritual breakthrough are desperately trying to hold on to their power by
bringing death and destruction wherever they can find an open door.
This is a call to press in to the Holy of holies in prevailing prayer for our
suffering Brothers and Sisters in Christ on Mindanao and throughout the
Philippines. Pray that God will surround and protect them. Pray that a raging
river of revival will sweep the nation, destroying demonic strongholds on every
side. Pray and ask God what He wants you to do in practical terms to help our
Brothers and Sisters. Pray for us as we go the end of March to meet with leaders
to plan long term recovery efforts. Please send a generous gift today so we can
buy rice, building materials, medicines, and other supplies for our Brothers and
Sisters as they try to rebuild their shattered lives. Our immediate goal is
