"CALL UNTO ME AND I WILL ANSWER …"
Jer. 33:3
God has given us a wonderful promise that, if we call on Him, He will answer
and show us great and mighty things. God is indeed answering our prayers.
A NEW BUILDING AT LAST
All this last school year, we have been praying for a new school building to
replace the one that Logos Christian High School in Timisoara, Romania lost last
October. When we started the preschool in January, 1991, we were given the
preschool wing of an elementary school. After we lost the high school building,
we made due by dividing up the classrooms in that preschool building and running
double shifts with the 11th and 12th grades in the morning and the 9th and 10th
grades in the afternoon. It was a workable solution but barely adequate.
This summer the elementary school that was occupying the other wing of our
preschool building moved to a new facility. We have now been given the entire
school complex for our use. The necessary repairs and renovations are already
under way and we are hoping to have everything ready by the time school starts.
Instead of the eight classrooms we had before in our original building, we will
now have twelve classrooms with special lab facilities for the nursing school
and computer school. For the first time the preschool, high school, and colleges
will all be at the same location which will improve ease of administration.

building needs.
AN EXPLODING CHURCH
Because of the hunger in people’s hearts to turn back to God, many new
churches are springing up across Romania. One pastor in Caransebes who was
responsible for 30 churches has established 40 more churches in his region. He
has asked us to help train workers to help pastors these churches. Yet this is
not his greatest need.
Pastor Titus Coroban has such a burden for souls that his evangelistic
efforts in Caransebes have caused the church to grow far beyond the capacity of
their church building. The building has been expanded to seat 220 people but the
church has grown past 500. Because the Sunday services last for three hours or
more, multiple services are not an option. The building has no air conditioning
so, in spite of every attempt to resolve the problem, people continue to faint
in the summertime because of the heat and lack of oxygen. They have been forced
to make due by only allowing half the congregation to come to church on any
given Sunday and then rotating. Thus people can only attend church every other
week! They desperately need a new church building. They have already bought the
land and drawn up the blueprints for a new church that will seat 750. They have
given sacrificially to get this far, one woman even selling the
"extra" clothes in her closet because she had nothing else to give.
Please help us to help them buy the materials for a new church where new
converts will be able to find a place to sit. They will do all the work
themselves as a labor of love but the money to buy the building materials is
beyond their capacity during this time of high unemployment and run away
inflation. Please join with us to reach out to them with love.
A UNITY THROUGH PRAYER
We praise God for answering prayer as we see the growing unity within the
Body of Christ in Romania. One of the things that God is using to bring about
that unity is a prayer movement among women called Deborah Arise Europe. At the
prayer rally that Barbara helped coordinate in Timisoara on July 1, we had women
from eight different churches of different denominations who came together to
pray for the children of Timisoara and Romania as a whole. Every ethnic group in
the city was involved as we set aside our differences to cry out to God in
behalf of our children. In October we plan to have women from three different
regions come together for a day of prayer for the children and young people of
Romania.
We believe that God wants to do the same thing in America that He is doing in
Romania and beginning to do in other parts of Europe. In addition to Deborah
Arise Europe, God has already raised up a Deborah Arise Africa and a Deborah
Arise Russia. We believe He wants to raise up a Deborah Arise America as well.
He is raising up "Deborah’s" around the world - women of prayer who
will cover the children and young people with a protective canopy of prayer so
God can move among them with life transforming power. That is why we have
enclosed this brochure to tell you about Deborah Arise America.
What is Deborah Arise America? It is a challenge to the women of America to
respond to God’s call to pray for the next generation. What does that mean in
practical terms? A woman (or man) who joins Deborah Arise America (or Europe)
makes a commitment to pray a minimum of 15 minutes every day for her own
children (and grandchildren), the children and young people in her home church,
her city, state (or province), nation, and the world. She also commits to meet
once a week with a handful of other "Deborah’s" to pray for one
another, and to fast as the Lord leads the first three days of each month.
What is the focus of these prayers? We are praying that the lost will come to
salvation, the "prodigals" will come back to the Lord, and that God
will raise up an army of young people whose hearts are on fire with a passion
for Jesus and a compassion for the lost that will cause them to do whatever it
takes to fulfill the Great Commission in this generation. We also pray for
special outreaches that involve young people.
We would invite you to join us and become a part of Deborah Arise and invite
others in your sphere of influence to do the same. There are no dues, no tee
shirts or bumper stickers to buy. If you would like to help cover the cost of
getting the word out, it would be appreciated but there is never any obligation.
Money designated for Deborah Arise will be used to cover the cost of printing
and mailing brochures, maintaining a website, and strategically placing
advertisements in magazines that target intercessors. We just want to challenge
the women of God to a commitment of prayer. Young people today are under attack
from every direction and they need our prayers, whether in America, in Romania,
or elsewhere. We sense God wants to call forth 1 million praying "Deborah’s"
in America by this time next year.
ANSWERING THE CALL
One thing we would ask you to pray for especially is a prayer rally that will
be taking place on Labor Day weekend. "The Call DC" is a gathering of
a million young people, their parents, and those who love them on the Mall in
Washington D.C. on Saturday, September 3 from 6 AM to 6 PM (EDT) to fast and
pray for revival to come to America and to repent for those sins that prevent
God’s perfect will from being done in this nation. Please pray (before, during
AND after) for this event, those who are leading it, and all those who will
participate. We need God’s mercy and grace to be poured out upon our nation.
His righteousness demands that He either send a spirit of genuine godly
repentance leading to sweeping revival or else divine judgment. He desires to
send revival if we will humble ourselves and call on Him.
