“CHOOSE YOU THIS DAY WHOM YOU WILL SERVE”
Joshua 24:15
On May 24, 2004, Howard used this Scripture to challenge
300 tribal chieftains on Mindanao to turn from paganism and Islam to worship the
Creator God and to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
They all responded by entering into covenant to make Jesus Christ Lord of
Mindanao.
AMERICA MUST CHOOSE
America is also facing a choice at this critical time
in our history. On November 2, the voters of this great nation will be
asked to choose whom they will serve. America has declared that we are
“one nation under God” but the question we face as a nation is which
“god” will we serve under. Will we serve the God of the Bible who is
Holy and Righteous in all His actions or will we serve the god of convenience
and political correctness who will tolerate anything as long as it promises
continued prosperity? Make no mistake. Our God is neither Republican
nor Democrat but He is a Righteous Judge who is calling His Church to stand up
and be counted on the side of righteousness and truth.
This nation is at a crossroads. As a democracy we are
accountable to God for the government we choose. As Christians we are
accountable to God for our choices. If you choose not to vote, you are
choosing to allow the wicked to choose which “god” America will serve.
When you vote, what should guide your choices? The
God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has established His law in His written Word.
His standards are absolutes, based on His very nature and character. He is
a God of life not death. He judged nations in the past when they shed
innocent blood, killing babies as a sacrifice to Baal, the god of sexual
immorality. He judges Sodom and Gomorrah when they allowed homosexuality
to be promoted as a protected, preferred lifestyle. As you select your
choice for president, remember that this man will have the power to appoint two
to four Supreme Court justices in the next four years. These justices will
have the opportunity to overturn the ban on partial birth abortion or overturn
Roe v. Wade that made abortion legal. They will decide whether the Ten
Commandments can be displayed publicly as the foundation for our legal system or
the Bible can be banned from public life in America.
God has set before this nation the clearest choice we have
faced in 100 years or more – life or death, blessing or curse, revival or
judgment. Choose you this day whom you will serve. VOTE!
Don’t just vote, pray! Pray that the powers of wickedness seeking to
take over this nation will be defeated. Pray that voter fraud will be
exposed and stopped. Pray that righteous men and women will be elected at
every level of government. Pray that this nation will choose to be one
nation under God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. May America once
again become a nation that God can bless. May the Church again become a
reflection of His holiness, righteousness, justice, and mercy.
THE TRIBAL CHIEFTAINS HAVE ALREADY CHOSEN
The tribal chieftains chose to renounce their pagan gods
and make Jesus Christ Lord of Mindanao. This choice has opened up a
tremendous door of opportunity for the Gospel to go forth to places it has never
been before. As a result of this choice, there are today between three to
five million people just waiting for someone to come and tell them how to
receive Jesus Christ as Savior. They have already decided to follow their
chieftains in embracing the Creator God and worshipping only Him. They are
just waiting for workers to come and tell them how.
We are training pastors as quickly as possible to go into
these areas to plant churches. Another group of students began training at
the Bible school in Tagum City on October 1. We hope to open another Bible
school in General Santos City in Sarangani province in November where 45 pastors
are waiting to be trained. They are already pastoring churches but have
yet to receive any formal Bible school training. We have another 15
workers who have finished the Basic Bible course and are willing to continue
their studies while pioneering churches in these new areas that are opening up.
We need the finances to build these 15 new churches before the end of the year.
They will cost $250 each for a total of $3,750. These workers have chosen
to give up everything to take the Gospel where it has never been preached
before. They need our help.
The tribal people of Mindanao have chosen to serve the
Creator God. Help us to provide them with the tools and the training
necessary to reach their own people with the Gospel of salvation found only in
Jesus Christ. $300 will train a pastor. $250 will build a church.
$50 a month will support a pioneering pastor who is already in the field.
